Wallace 3 Months

Wallace,

You are 3 months old today, and we celebrated with an ice storm that cancelled work for me!  Hooray!  Speaking of work, I just went back last Monday as you turned 12 weeks old.  I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to stay home with you for those 12 weeks.  It was such a precious time filled with lots of cuddling.  I held you, sang to you, and talked to you so much over those few weeks, and I wouldn't change it for the world.  I will forever cherish that time I had to just be Mommy.  Going back to work has been hard, the first day kicked my butt, but I think it's best for our family for now.  I'm working all day mon, tues, wed, (8:45-4:45) and half day Friday.  Thursday is my favorite day of the week as I get to stay home with you and Wilson all day long.  It's the best!

You've had a great adjustment at daycare.  They are following our schedule really well with you as far as eating and naps.  I pray that your teachers continue to love on you.  They seem super sweet so far!  Gigi keeps both you and Wilson on Tuesday, and I can never thank her enough.  I love that ya'll have a day to get spoiled by Gigi!  Over the past 2 months, your schedule has stayed pretty much the same.

You nurse (or have a bottle when at daycare) at 7 am, 9:30 am, 12:30, 3:30, 5:30, and 8 pm.  You have playtime after each feeding for roughly an hour followed by a nap.  Your late afternoon naps are getting hard so I think we may slowly adjust your schedule over the next few weeks to get an earlier bedtime and eventually drop a feeding.  You've had no issues with taking your bottle of pumped breast milk.  Pumping isn't my favorite thing to do, but I'm gonna try to make it till you're 6 months old giving you breast milk.

You are the sweetest, go with the flow baby, and that's a blessing from God!  When you do get a little upset, you rarely cry.  You soothe yourself by sucking on your hands.  Thumb sucker in our future?  The paci works well to calm you down most of the time.  You laughed for the first time January 24 with Daddy playing in the den while I was making pancakes with Wilson.  It made all of us so happy, and now we love to make you laugh!

We switched your carseat position with Wilson so I can now more easily see you while driving.  For a while there, I was pulling the car over to check for breathing every time you got quiet.  Paranoid mom?  I call it loving ; )

You're rolling front to back and like tummy time if we time it right.  You try to scoot yourself sometimes on your tummy.  You love when I play the Praise Baby station on Pandora for you, your play mat, and your bouncy seat.  Sometimes in the evenings, you get mad when we are holding you, and you're totally calm if we just lay you down on the floor.

TV already catches your attention so I try my best to keep it turned off.  Your daddy sure does like having it on though... ; )

You recently started kicking your legs super fast!  You love to be facing out when held, and you are typically very content and happy.  You enjoy reading books, and you've started "talking" to me now.  I love it!

A huge milestone this month was SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! Like legit sleeping through the night.  You did it right at 12 weeks old from roughly 8 pm-6 am.  You've done it since about 4-5 times.  If you wake up during the night to nurse, you'll sleep until 7:30, but I think I prefer you making it till 6 or 6:30 without a middle of the night feeding.  I'm so proud of you for being such a good sleeper.  It helps Mommy out a LOT!

That big, open mouth smile that turns into a laugh is the BEST.

You're filling up your size 2 diapers and size 3-6 months clothes.  I think you weigh about 14.5 pounds.  You seem bigger than Wilson to me, but we'll get an accurate weight at your 4 month check up.

As always, time is literally flying by!!!  I love seeing you laugh and smile, but I already miss those newborn cuddles.  I'm so incredibly thankful to be your Mommy.  The Lord blessed us way more than we ever deserve.

Love, Mommy and Daddy
