4 years

On this day 4 years ago, I slept in at my parent's house until about 9 am.  I woke up to a delicious breakfast and was given a beautiful ring as a wedding day gift.  I had my hair all fixed up by a professional, went to Jeanie's house to do my makeup, and then headed to the church to spend the day with my 15 bridesmaids and sweet family.  I found some pretty roses my fiance had sent to me, and I smiled so big!  At 5 pm, I got ready to walk down the aisle to marry my best friend.  I loved Caleb so much that day, and I could.not.wait. to say I do!  It was a perfect day and night with our closest family and friends!

Today, I woke up at 4 am to my 4 month old talking to himself.  I finally got out of the bed at 6:30 am and nursed my baby.  I spent 9 minutes (literally) doing my hair, makeup, and getting dressed.  I ate a quick bowl of oatmeal and ran out the door after kissing Caleb and Wilson goodbye.  I almost ran out of gas (6 miles to empty!) but made it.  I had a dozen red roses delivered to my office, and it made me so happy that he still takes the time to do that!  I worked all day taking care of pregnant women, had lunch with my husband of 4 years, and I don't know what the evening will entail.

It's amazing the difference 4 years makes.

And I'd say this day is even more perfect than December 13, 2008.

I am so incredibly blessed to be able to call Caleb my husband.  To know that I have a best friend who will ALWAYS be there.  No matter what.  I thought we had been through a lot before, but after this year, it's so much more.  And we really are only getting started.

In the past, we've gone on anniversary trips - to the mountains, to the Bahamas, to New York City.  This year, we're gonna get CRAZY and go to Greenville.  We talked about it, but we're just not ready to leave Wilson for a trip yet.  Maybe one day, right?!

So here we are 4 years ago right after I became a "Massengill."

And this time last year, I was ice skating around Rockefeller Center with Baby Wilson growing in my tummy!  Cra-zay.

Every year with Caleb is so awesome, so perfect, and so much better than the last.  Seeing him become a daddy, MY baby daddy, has made my love for him go through the roof.  He's one heck of a husband and father.  If he can survive those first few weeks at home with a baby who doesn't sleep and a mommy who worries more than any other new mom could imagine, I think we'll make it.  Thanks for being the best husband ever and for loving crazy ole me, Caleb!

I love you to pieces ; )
