Weekend

We've had such a fun weekend with our little Wilson!  He's 10 weeks old today which is just crazy!  I was able to get home early on Friday afternoon to spend some time with me.  He was napping so I cuddled with him and watched Grey's Anatomy while we waited on Caleb to get home.  Then we went to Georgia!  We all just hung out on Friday night.  On Saturday  morning, Caleb and I went for a run, together.  We haven't run together in a LONG time.  It was actually pretty fun, except for the fact that he ran a mile farther than me.  I was a bit jealous, but more tired than jealous.

We took Wilson to his first Fall Festival Saturday afternoon in downtown Watkinsville.  He pretty much just hung out in his stroller, but the rest of us enjoyed some healthy fair food (HA), pony rides, and fall fun!

It makes me so happy to watch these cousins play together!

Wellsleigh was fascinated with Wilson, and he wasn't quite sure what to do about it.  They were so sweet together, even when she decided to put her fingers in his mouth.

Caleb's friend Bodie got married Saturday night, and Wilson's aunts Erin and Mabry kept him while we went to the wedding.  It was a fun date night (with Craig and Marcia).  Lots of Caleb's high school friends were there, and it was fun to catch up.  We were excited to get home to our baby boy after the reception.

And today, we made a stop at the mall and Babies R Us in Greenville to do a little Christmas shopping.  Santa gets started early.  We're enjoying a lazy night at home tonight watching Wilson kick like a maniac and drool like crazy on his playmat.

I cherish every second of our weekends now that I'm back at work all week.  And as far as Wilson at 10 weeks, he's still eating 4-5 oz. of breast milk every 3 hours during the day.  We had one night last week that he only woke up once at 2 am and not until a little after 6 am.  It was AMAZING.  But we're now back to twice a night.  He's a big time drooler now, and he kicks his legs like craaazay.  He puts his hands in his mouth a lot, and he's most content when we hold him facing out to see what's going on.  He's an awesome little 10 week old!

31 weeks

How Far along? 31 weeks – we’re in the 30’s!!! So hard to believe!
Size of the Baby? We’ll find out next week when we do an ultrasound.  My phone says 4 pounds and 19 inches.  That seems so long!
Maternity Clothes? All day long.  And XL t-shirts for sleepy time.

Gender?  Sweet baby boy

Movement?  Lots!  Being an obsessive OB person, I do kick counts a few times a day.  Almost any time I lay still for a few minutes, I can feel 10 movements very quickly.  It makes me so happy!

Sleep? It depends on the night.  I wake up at least once a night to potty, but there are some nights that I feel like I toss and turn constantly.  And tossing and turning takes time and concentration now, HA.  I think the source of my difficulty sleeping is hip pain/leg cramps/heartburn.  Luckily, I just wake Caleb up to chat in the middle of the night until I can fall back asleep ; )

Cravings? Not too much right now.  The appetite is kinda weird.  I still love cold stuff – ice cream!  Gatorade when I walk.  Watermelon.

Symptoms?  Exhaustion.  I feel like I could sleep all day every day, but I’m thankful that I’m able to get up and go to work all day.  See above sleep issues.  And a bit of anxiety about what’s about to happen!

What I miss?  Feeling rested and having lots of energy.  I used to be able to go for 30 minute runs with no problem.  3 minutes into my walk yesterday, I seriously wanted to lay down on the road and take a nap.  3 minutes.  I made myself go for 20, but I was pooped!

Milestones?  Being over 30 weeks.  The countdown is on.  If this little fella decides to come a week early (which I’m praying for because he’s so big), we’ll have him in 8 weeks!  We also got a lot done in the nursery this weekend.

What I’m nervous about?  Labor.  There are so many little decisions you can make going into it, but I know from patient stories that it all goes out the window when those big contractions start.  I’m just praying we’ll have a safe, healthy labor and delivery and that God will work out the details.

What I’m excited about?  All the amazing things we’ve gotten for Wilson.  Mom and I washed several loads of laundry last week, and the nursery is starting to come together.

The 31 week pic is from before leaving for my friend Katie's wedding Saturday.  The days when I put on makeup, jewelry, and heels are few and far between now so we get the camera out when it does happen.  It was SO fun to see lots of friends!  We had spent all day in the nursery so I felt it was appropriate to take the picture in there.

The Reception

John & Brittnee had their reception at Veterans Park, and it was so fun!  Honestly, at this point, I was just glad I made it through the wedding with my bridesmaid dress still fitting.  I tried it on just about every day leading up to the wedding.  I was pretty nervous about it with my expanding belly, but it fit!

Me and my baby daddy at 25 weeks!

Me, Jeanie, Anna, and Mom...it's party time : )

Me, Ashley, and Nicole.  Ashley has a 15 (or 16) month old Colton, and Nicole will be having Hampton in July.  We're all gonna have little boys!

Brittnee's bridal portrait and the favors - Chapstick (John's addiction) and Playing cards (the Gregory family's addiction).  Such clever ideas!

And there they go!  Off to the Grove Park Inn!!!

It really was a magical night!  I think everybody had a great time, and we were all exhausted from celebrating!  We love you, John and Brittnee, and we are so excited about your marriage!!!

John & Britt are MARRIED!

John and Brittnee had a perfect wedding day, as least from what I could tell!  The weather was absolutely perfect, not too hot, not too cold, and no rain.

Brittnee's grandmother hosted the bridal brunch at the Inn at Meridan Saturday morning, and it was yummy.

We found out that this relative of Brittnee's is a Dermatology NP, and my aunt Bibi (who is a retired RN) had tons of skin questions for her.  It was hilarious.  We all made fun of her millions of questions.

Group shot outside the Inn : )

Then we all rushed off to have our hair and makeup done.  Mom and I had ours done by the same lady who fixed mine for my wedding.  Isn't that neat?  The guys all had a steak lunch and shot guns out in the country during all this time.

Then we were headed to the church!  Brittnee and John's shoes got to see each other before the wedding, but they didn't ; )

John and the girls

This picture is one of my favorites.  They were so cute about not getting a peek at each other.  So happy and excited : )

And every groom drinks a protein shake just before the wedding.  Totally normal, right?

We don't have any pictures from the actual ceremony, but the reception is up next!

John and Britt Rehearsal Dinner

Rewinding to last Friday afternoon...

After lunch, I went by Spartan Bakery to pick up the groom's cakeS.  Yes, plural.  My mom is all about fairness, and if one groom's cake wasn't quite as big as my one wedding cake, then John must have 2 of them.  I found it hysterical that I had to drive these 2 beauties back to my house, somehow fit them in my fridge, and then keep them together all the way down to the park for the rehearsal dinner.  With Caleb's assistance, we somehow did it.  The weight lifter may or may not have lost an arm in the process, but we did a minor surgical repair before anyone knew.

And the slight lean of Mr. Chocolate Strawberry cake, just ignore that.  ; )

Caleb set everything up for the slideshow, and we were off to the church!  About 10 minutes into the rehearsal, while we're all on stage in our assigned positions, Caleb's phone rings!  Wellsleigh is HERE! 6 lbs. 5 oz. of perfection!  She'll get her own post soon, but I had to give you the play by play.

The rehearsal went perfectly, and then it was dinner time.  John had to check out the buffet line.  Midway BBQ catered, and it was all deeeeee-licious.  Country fried steak, marinated chicken, mac and cheese, rice and gravy, green beans, and fried okra.  Yum.

My uncle Sonny was the minister for the wedding.  He officiated our wedding 3 years ago, too, along with Caleb's grandfather.  We like keeping things in the family.

We took a ton of pictures, but I'm just gonna add one more group family shot.

John gave roses to all the mom's since it was Mother's Day weekend.  So sweet!  And he gave a sweet toast, followed by the not-so-sweet toast from Caleb and me.  It was such a fun night!

Weekend Recap

May is probably one of the busiest months of the year.  At least it seems that way to me.  There are so many "end of the year" school events, graduations, weddings, and just fun things to do!  This month is living up to its business it seems.

Brittnee graduated from SCC Saturday morning, and we were pumped to be there to celebrate!  She has worked in the pharmacy at CVS, planned a wedding, finished school, and managed to have some fun in there over the past year.  Go girl!

We celebrated with lunch at Olive Garden after graduation.  Side note:  I LOVE finding non-maternity summer dresses in my closet that are made for an expanding belly.  It's crazy how happy that makes me, especially when I'm rushed to get dressed and NOTHING else seems to fit.

Mom, Britt, and John!  Happy Graduation Day!!!

We spent the next couple of hours at Lowe's picking out a new vanity, commode, wallpaper, etc. for our powder room.  Then we met our handyman/painter/fix everything we can't fix buddy Johnny at our house to get quotes and arrange times for the work to be done.  I was making decisions left and right which is kinda difficult to me.  We actually think most of the work will be completed today.  That's why we call him Johnny on the Spot.

Saturday night, my friend Meredith got married in Spartanburg!  It really was such a pretty wedding.  She used lots of corals, greens, and burlap, and it was so nice!

I'm so terrible for not having a picture of the bride, but we were outside when she arrived and missed all of the good opportunities.

Ansley, Brittany, Lizann, me, and Wilson ; )   The bridesmaid's dresses (that Brittany is wearing) truly are something you could wear again.

It was a fun date night at the wedding!

Brittany wanted to come see the nursery, but I had to break it to her that the nursery is currently non existent.  Am I a terrible mom?  We seriously plan on moving out the current furniture by the end of this week so we'll have space for the crib and dresser when they come in (hopefully next week!)

After the wedding, we went by to visit Baby Olivia.  She's already 2 weeks old and is getting cuter by the second!

I have a feeling this coming weekend will be equally as busy and even more exciting...with my brother's wedding and possibly our first niece being born!!!

Britt's Bachelorette

I really can't believe John and Brittnee's wedding is right around the corner.  It's definitely getting real as we celebrated Britt with her bachelorette party last weekend in Concord, NC.  She chose the location:  The Great Wolf Lodge.  Yes, the indoor water park.  I'm pretty sure we were the first bachelorette party they ever had.  They seriously doubted us when we checked in with all adults, no kids.  Honestly, I thought it was a joke when they told me where we were going.  But let me just say, it was one of the most fun places I've ever been for a bachelorette party, and I have been to my fair share of them.  So good pick, Britt!

We hit the pools and water slides as soon as we arrived Friday afternoon.  Luckily, they had some lounge chairs at an outdoor pool, perfect for this preggo to relax and soak up some sun.

After getting ready and having a lingerie shower for Brittnee, we continued with the childish theme of the weekend and with dinner atDave and Buster's.  Yum.  Their food was surprisingly delicious, and the video games were so.much.fun.  It was great pretending to be a little kid for a weekend.

We seriously laughed at ourselves when we were at a yogurt shop at 10 pm as opposed to a bar.  But don't you worry, we checked out the local bar afterwards and had a great time singing, dancing, and talking.

It was such a fun weekend, and I loved celebrating Brittnee with all of her friends!  Such a great group!

Brittnee's Church Shower

It was a weekend full of showers for us!  Brittnee had a wedding shower at Tabernacle on Sunday afternoon.  It was great seeing all the sweet ladies from the church where I grew up.  Brittnee had tons of fun gifts, and we loved celebrating.  I really can't believe how soon the wedding will be here!

Here's Brittnee and her mom!

It was the first time I had seen her formal china, and I love it!

Somebody's keeping Cuisinart in business.

Some cute guys showed up in the middle of their basketball game to help carry out gifts...

It was a very fun shower-filled weekend.  It'll be wedding time in less than 2 months!!!

Brittnee's Monogram Shower

Anna and I hosted a Monogram shower for Brittnee on Sunday.  Monogram showers are probably one of my all time favorites.  The gifts are all so cute and personal, and I just love that!

Here's the best part...food!  We had lots of fruit, 2 kinds of sandwiches, cheese wafers, nuts, cake squares, and punch.

My personal favorite...the cake squares.

Here's Brittnee chattin' it up with a few of the guests.

We can always count on Jeanie to pin on the corsage.

She got so many neat gifts, and these tiered trays are gonna be adorable once they get put together.

We played the infamous TP dress game.

My mom was the judge so guess what?!  They tied.  The Gregory family is all about fairness.

Again, Brittnee was showered by lots of loving friends and family.  We all had a great time and are getting SO excited about the wedding!!!!
