Happy Easter!

We spent our Easter weekend with family, and it was so much fun!  I had Good Friday off, and it was so nice to sleep in and just relax all day.  Caleb got to leave work a little early Friday afternoon, and we went straight to Georgia to meet his family for dinner.  We usually get stuck in 5:00 Greenville traffic on our way, but we beat it this time!  We need to always leave a little early...I'll get his bosses to understand, HA.

We were able to spend lots of time with our 2 favorite nephews!  They are so funny and so cute together, even when they are "learning to share."  It's adorable.  Here they are playing airplane!

Dying eggs with them Saturday night was lots of fun!  Very few messes were made, and I think they enjoyed it!  It may have taken 8 adults supervising the process to make it go smoothly, but hey - whatever it takes : )

We drove to Union Sunday morning for church at Tabernacle and lunch at Mama's.  John and Brittnee always color coordinate, especially for Easter.  Aren't they cute?

I realized how badly I'm in need of a tan while taking Easter pics.  This fair skinned girl can't wait to see the sun soon!

Caleb and I went to the dollar theater Sunday afternoon to see Unknown.  It was a great movie, filled with excitement.  It made me so thankful for my simple life though, Ha!

Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend celebrating our risen Lord!

I've already switched over to my white pocketbook and wearing linen.  Woo Hoo for Spring!  Now if I could just get a tan...

Our Weekend

We stayed home this weekend and had so much fun!  We went out to dinner with some friends Friday night, slept in Saturday, and got lots of stuff done around the house Saturday.  I cleaned out all of our closets, and I love how they look so organized now!  Caleb played golf with a friend on Saturday since it was so pretty outside.  I'm having some allergy issues with April so I stayed indoors most of the day cleaning.  Saturdays with no plans are few and far between, and I've learned to love them.

We had some friends over Saturday night and went to a movie together.  We saw The Lincoln Lawyer, and it was really good.  I usually doze in and out during movies, but this one kept my attention the whole time.

We had a great service at church this morning, and then we headed to Buffalo for lunch.  After lunch, we went to a baby shower to celebrate my friend Kacie and her baby girl.  My mom and some of her friends hosted a shower for Kacie, and it was so special to be there.  Kacie and I have been friends since we were born, literally.  We started taking dance together when we were 2, and we played sports together all through high school.  She's such a fun friend!

pretty flowers and yummy desserts

Anna and I with the cute mom-to-be.  Isn't she precious?!

Kacie and her mom

One of the ladies at the shower gave Kacie this blanket, and we all teared up when we heard its story.  Kacie's grandma, who went to Heaven not long ago, made this blanket and gave it to another lady at the church when she had a baby 30 years ago.  How sweet!!!

Kacie got so many awesome things!  I'm pretty sure I filled up her little book with tons of thoughtful gifts.  It was so fun celebrating Kacie and her baby on the way with friends and family from the church.

After the shower, we went back out to the country to watch the end of the Masters.  I only like to watch the last 5 holes so it was perfect timing, HA.  It was a great weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

After a week in Hawaii, we are thrilled to spend a night in for Valentine's Day.  We're still getting a bit adjusted to the time change so it is very nice to relax a bit.

I love Valentine's Day, but I prefer a fancy dinner and flowers on a day that's not so Hallmark-ed.  Surprise flowers, ya know.

We are spending our day of love with...:

a 2 mile run after work

 a free Redbox movie

 (romantic, huh?)

Homemade cards

And delicious made-from-scratch red velvet cake
(thanks, mom)

Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm so thankful for all of our family and friends who we love so much, and especially for my sweet Valentine!  Celebrate the ones you love today!

We'll get back to the Hawaii postings soon : )

To See or Not To See?

Caleb and I decided to go see a movie today since it was perfect movie weather, and he gave up on shooting Bambi.  We decided on How Do You Know? because the preview made it look like a great chick flick.  There were several big names in it.  It had to be a good one, right?

Wrong.

I have never, I repeat NEVER, walked out of a movie.  Mainly because I'm cheap, and if we're gonna pay for a ticket, we're gonna sit through it.  Well, I can't make that statement after tonight.

After 1 hour of nothingness in that movie, we realized that Little Fockers was about to start.  What did we do, but walk right out and go watch it?

I'm not sure if that's ethically "right," but honestly, we felt like we deserved a full refund from the first movie.  So that makes it okay, right?

Little Fockers was funny, but far too inappropriate for the abundance of kiddos in there.  We enjoyed it nonetheless.  Am I gonna go to movie jail now?  Ha!

Yay for 2011.

Saturday Randoms

I came home Thursday night to a surprise from Caleb.  It was this awesome CD from Target.

I can't help but like Taylor Swift.  Her songs are SO fun!  I recommend the new CD.

We saw Morning Glory with some friends, and it was a cute movie.

I'm a little bit obsessed with the Today Show every morning, and this movie depicts a young girl trying to make it as an executive producer of a morning show called DayBreak.  It makes you appreciate the hard work behind the scenes for Matt and Meredith.

We had dinner last night with some friends who have a 3 week old and an almost 2 year old.  Wow!  You can learn a lot hanging out at their house for a little while.  Precious little fam!

On the downside, I experienced my first migraine on my new medication.  I thought it was going to be an instant miracle cure, but I'm gonna have to hang in there with it for a little while.

After CPR training this morning, Mom and I went to Santa's Shop, a shopping adventure in Spartanburg sponsored by the Junior League, and we find some fun Christmas surprises!

Now back to watching college football!

The Last Song

Like all other 16 year olds, I love me some Miley Cyrus.  I had not seen her latest big hit until last night.  The Last Song was such a good movie and not at all what I expected, not that I read the book to know what I should expect, HA!  I don't do much of that whole reading for fun thing.

Anyway, I found out today that Miley and Liam (the couple in the movie and in real life) just broke up!  How sad!  They were so happy on my TV screen last night...

Toes and Toys

It's kinda embarrassing to admit this, but I haven't had a pedicure since May.  And I don't exactly have the prettiest feet ever.  Heidi and I fixed this problemo by having awesome pedicures after work yesterday, and it was so nice.  She is always up for a pedicure, and when I say always, I mean always.  It doesn't matter when I ask her, she's in!  So thanks, Heidi, for getting your toes cute with me yesterday!

Caleb and I decided we were going on a date last night, and we were debating between Inception and Toy Story 3.  I decided that Inception would probably give me a headache from trying to understand, and Caleb would probably end up frustrated from having to explain everything to me.  Typical.

So we picked:

It's a hit, and I think everybody should see it!  It really takes me back to my childhood with Barbie and Ken's dream house, and it makes me never want to get rid of a toy again.  And maybe I missed this in the first 2 movies, but is there not a Daddy in Toy Story?  Sad.

Anyway, go see Toy Story 3!  Don't be embarrassed if you laugh out loud or cry.  We did both.

Extraordinary

One of Caleb's best friends in the whole wide world, AJ, and his precious fiance, Grace, stopped by our house last night for dinner on their way back home to Georgia.  They are quite possibly the cutest couple ever, and we cannot wait for their wedding in July.  The Lord has already done so much in their lives, and it is such a blessing to spend time with them.  They will certainly glorify Him through their marriage.

We helped them work on their registry a little bit, so fun!  They are very practical and were only registering for things they NEEDED right NOW.  We showed them how fun it was to pick all kinds of stuff, HA!
Grace is a Georgia Gym Dog, and I tried to convince her to do some layouts in the living room.  Maybe we'll see a little tumbling at the wedding, haha!

We guilted them into staying longer by starting this movie.

It's about Pompe disease and a father that goes to extraordinary measures to find a cure.  It is such a touching story, and it makes you truly value your health.

They all said the acting wasn't great, but I'm not a good movie critic.  Anything with a happy ending and a sweet story wins my heart.  We had a wonderful time with some extraordinary friends : )

The Blind Side

I don't laugh or cry at many movies, at least I didn't until the past few years.  The Blind Side brought me to tears through the whole movie when we saw it in the theater.  I felt sure it wouldn't happen again once we watched it at home.  Wrong.  I sobbed.  AGAIN.  It is just such a sweet story, and it really touches my heart.  I strongly encourage you to watch it!

Luckily, for the tears, ours neighbors called us for a quick trip to Bruster's tonight for ice cream.   We were about halfway through the movie, but who can turn down Bruster's?  It was delish!  Birthday cake milkshake....  yum yum!  Scott and Jenny have been the best neighbors we could ever ask for, and we are kinda upset about them moving soon.  They are going overseas to do missions so we can't get tooooo mad.  It is the Lord's work, and they will be absolutely amazing.

And....sweet Caleb just took my car to fill it up with gas.  I really dislike putting gas in my car.  It is such a tedious chore to me, and I love when he does it for me.  Thanks, Caleb : )

Anyway, please watch the Blind Side.  We have 2 copies (1 blu ray and 1 DVD, we're obsessed) that we would be happy to share!
