Packin' for Vegas

Tonight was packing night.  We're leaving Thursday morning for Las Vegas.  Talk about culture shock for this country girl!  I'm going to a conference for PA's in OB/Gyn, and I'm so excited.  Of course, Caleb is coming along.  I wouldn't dare leave the state without him.  I would definitely have a panic attack at the airport if I tried, haha.  I don't do so well with airports.  We haven't flown since our honeymoon where THIS happened.

My suitcase was a little bit too heavy on the way home, costing us a lil' extra money.  Whoops!  A girl's gotta buy some souvenirs.   I'll try to keep that from happening again.

We're going with our friends Maggie and Bradley.  I needed a buddy to sit through the long conference with me, and Maggie agreed (even though she works in Pediatrics).

Here we are celebrating with them in Charleston last summer when we finished PA school!

I don't know what we're getting ourselves into going to Vegas, but here we go!  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Say a little prayer for save travels...and that Caleb doesn't blow every penny we've ever had in the casinos, hehe.

Hey Kathryn! Love your new blog!
So excited to read that you're heading to Vegas!
Tom and I went 3 years ago and had an absolute blast! We aren't gamblers, but we never slowed down. The hotels are amazing and probably beyond anything you've seen before. Each is like a city in itself. We stayed at the Bellagio and enjoyed the gorgeous fountain shows from our hotel window!
Go to Wolfgang Puck's restaurant(can't remember which hotel it's in, but you'll find it) and get the grilled vegetable salad. To die for!!!
If you want a really fun dining experience, make reservations at the top of the Stratosphere. It revolves and you can enjoy the strip as you dine!!!
Make sure you go to the Venice Hotel where you can take a romantic gondola ride, complete with serenade, down the "canal" right through the hotel! You may even see a few weddings taking place!
When you walk down the street in the mornings, check out the "call cards" thrown all over the sidewalks. I guess when they say "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is true!
Take comfortable shoes!!!!! You'll be walking A LOT!
Have a wonderful trip and take lots of pics to post!
Love you!
