New York on Friday

Our 2nd day in New York City was even more jam-packed.  Being on the TODAY show has been on my bucket list for years now.  I don't watch a TON of TV, but the TODAY show is one show I watch almost every morning before I go to work.  It's just such a happy, laid back, entertaining news show, and I enjoy it.  So we were up bright and early Friday morning to go check it out.  We walked over to Rockefeller Center and joined the tons of people packed in around the plaza.

We snapped a few paparazzi style pics of Al and Kathie Lee with the zoom lens, thinking they would be the best pictures we'd get.

But then my friend Ashley showed up.  She and I were ZTAs at PC together, and she now has an amazing job at NBC in NYC.  She took the 4 of us (all VIP style) right into the middle of the plaza, basically beside Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales, Ann Curry, all of 'em.

If you watch the show, you know Lenny.  He's there every.single.morning. and is kind of a celebrity himself.

We had a brief convo with Matt ("hey, how are you?"), and then Ann came over for a chat.  She was so sweet and laid back.  She even played with/poofed my hair while we were taking our picture.

We got our 5 seconds of fame on national television while waving frantically into the camera beside Claire Danes.  It was an awesome experience.

I then went back to the hotel to learn some gynecology at the conference while the other 3 (Caleb, John, and Britt) took another round on the bus tour.

During my lunch break, we went to China Town for some shopping and of course to eat Chinese food!  Yummy egg rolls!

We then took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty.  It was freeeezing cold but so awesome to see it together!

On our way home, we stopped by  Grand Central Station.  It was pure chaos in there.  Caleb was able to go in the 2nd Apple store in NYC during this trip.  Apple is everywhere!

We also stopped by Ground Zero and saw where the Twin Towers stood.  For some reason though, I can't find those pictures right now.

Here's the view out of the lounge at our hotel.

We went out for pizza Friday night and played a game of Setback when we got back to the room.  It was a full, fun day!

Hm, I forgot. Maybe it was a tie?
