New York Trip

Caleb and I went to New York City last weekend with John and Brittnee.  I found a Gynecology conference there and decided to plan a trip around it a few months ago.  I went to NYC when I was 16 on a school field trip.  Caleb went with his dad several years ago.  Neither of us had been at Christmas, and I've always wanted to go.  John & Britt had never been before at all.  Heck, Brittnee had never even been on an airplane.  So it was quite the experience for us all!

We flew out Thursday morning and were at our hotel by noon.  We immediately started touring the city and ended up at the Plaza Hotel (where Kevin McAlister stays in Home Alone 2).

After shopping in FAO Schwartz, we wandered into Central Park (which is HUGE!)

It was so neat to see such a big, pretty park with an ice skating rink right in the middle of such a large city.

The Christmas decorations were awesome!  And all over the city!

Now that's a big plug-in.

We then ventured into Times Square.  What trip is complete without a $1 ice cream cone at McDonald's?

Have you heard of the Naked Cowboy?  We saw him as soon as we started our bus tour (which was a great way to see the city, over and over!).  Apparently, he makes TONS of money walking around like this all the time.

We took a carriage ride around Central Park on Thursday night.  Our driver was a little sketchy and spoke little to no English, but it was nice and relaxing!

Our hotel was right in the middle of everything which was super convenient for getting around to all of these places.  And I think that pretty much sums up our first day in the Big Apple!
