You are 5 months old today! You have got this smile and laugh thing down pat. If we smile at you, talk to you in a silly voice, or even pretend like we MIGHT tickle you, you laugh like crazy! I LOVE it. You are starting to reach for toys and people now, too. I love when you reach for me when I come home from work every day. I can't wait to start my 4 day work week next week so I'll have an extra day at home with you.
Our days and nights are becoming much more predictable. (*Disclaimer: As soon as I think I have something figured out, it changes.) You wake up for the day around 7 am, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. You occasionally wake up between 4 and 5 for a paci. We've tried to keep you from having any milk in the middle of the night. We did cry it out a couple nights last week. It sucks. I hate it. But I think it helped you. After I nurse you in the morning, we feed you oatmeal while we eat breakfast together as a family. Then Gigi arrives, and you light up!
Ya'll hang out all day. You take 2 naps while she's here usually, and she feeds you 3 bottles (2 breastmilk and 1 formula). She also gives you some food now. You've tried carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes. You LOVE sweet potatoes, like carrots, and will eat peas. We're trying green beans tomorrow. Get excited! So far, you really are a wonderful eater.
Then when I get home from work around 5, you give me a sweet smile and reach for me. I usually feed you another veggie (or just oatmeal) while we wait for Daddy to get home. Then we stand in the dining room looking out the window waiting for him. We greet him at the door, and you both get so excited! We all play together in the evening. Sometimes you get a little fussy in the evenings, but if we walk around with you and bounce you, you're fine.
I bathe you, Daddy tells you night night, and I nurse you. Then I kiss your sweet cheeks and tell you I love you while putting you in your crib. It's such a sweet moment. You are the perfect ending to every day. These past 5 months have been beyond amazing. You have 110% completely changed our lives, and we love it. You are teaching us how to love, how to have patience, how to be flexible, and how to be selfless.
Wilson, thanks for being our son. You're growing up so fast already. You KNOW we're Mommy and Daddy now, and we love that. I hope and pray you have a heart for Jesus, and that you will love Him. It would be pretty cool if you love (and obey) your parents, too ; )
I cannot believe you're almost half a year old. Geez Louise! We love you, buddy!
