Wallace One Month

Wallace,

You are ONE MONTH old today!  You have already brought our family so much joy in this one short month.  You are such an answer to prayer.  God has blessed us with a wonderful, cuddly, oh so sweet baby boy by giving us you.

You have started cooing at times, and it's absolutely adorable.  You also rolled from tummy to back, but I'm hoping it was an accident.  I don't want to rush any milestones this time.  I want to keep you little for as long as possible!  

Breastfeeding has been ten times easier this time as compared to with your brother.  You are a great nurser.  You eat every 2-3 hours during the day and every 3-4 hours at night.  Those 4 hour stretches are rare but amazing when they happen.  You eat 3-4 oz. at each feeding.  You have taken a bottle of pumped milk 4 or 5 times like a champ!  You have taken a bottle from Daddy, Gigi, Gramme, and me.  Our pediatrician recommended making sure you get a bottle at least every couple of days.

I am scared to say it, but your sleep habits are truly a gift from above.  We still have some issues with Wilson waking at night and coming to "Mommy's bed" so it's really a gift that you are such a great sleeper.  We moved you to your crib at 4 weeks old, and you have done great with it!  You go to bed around 8 or 9 pm after nursing, and maybe a bath.  We swaddle you in a velcro swaddle and you go right down after nursing.  I like to hold you for at least a few minutes though.  It's such a sweet time hearing you breathe on my shoulder and smelling those sweet baby smells.  You then wake every 2.5-4 hours to nurse and go back down rather easily.  You wake up between 6-7 and sometimes go right back to sleep after nursing then.  Sometimes you're ready to be up though which is fine, too.

You don't love tummy time.  You do like being held.  Who wouldn't?  ; )  I'm trying to get you to like your paci and so far so good.  You like bath time if you aren't hungry.  You do not like diaper changes, but it's getting better.  You love being snuggled in your bouncy seat or Mamaroo and take most naps there.  I hold you on my chest for naps when I can.

You have dark brown hair, blue gray eyes, and skin like your daddy.  You have goopy eyes when you wake up, and we think it's a blocked tear duct.  We call you Little Squishy, cuddle bug, sweet boy, baby Wallace, and lots of other names.

You can still wear newborn clothes and diapers but also size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes.  You had a healthy 1 month check up (2 days early), and we are truly thankful for that.

Long legs!  Maybe you'll be tall like Daddy.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much, and we thank God every day for allowing us to be your parents.  We pray daily for your salvation and your future, and that we raise you in way that glorifies the Lord.  Your big brother loves you, too.  If you aren't in the same room as us, he's constantly asking "where's wawwace?"  He asks to "hold wawwace" and "tickle wawwace" almost daily.  We are so blessed to have you in our little family.
