Wallace 5 Months

Wallace,

You are 5 months old!  This month has been a busy one filled with lost of trips and new things for you.  You continue to be the sweetest, most easy going, best baby in the whole world.  I am so thankful for that and try to never take it for granted.  The only time you get upset is when you are REALLY hungry or REALLY sleepy.  And even then, it's a pretty easy fix.  I'm so happy to be your mommy!

You had a little fever after your 4 month shots, but you were fine with a little Tylenol.  You've been so healthy, and I thank God for that.  I am a believer in breastfeeding based on your health!

This month, you went to the lake for the first time as well as a road trip to visit Pa in NC.  Oh, and a weekend in Charleston.  You are a great traveler.  Knock on wood and praise the Lord you sleep great  in your pack and play.  You also do well with napping in the car seat.  However, you do NOT.  I repeat do NOT like your car seat if you aren't sleeping.

You rolled over back to front for the first time on March 28, and you have been doing it non stop since then.  I found you on your tummy in your crib that morning.  You sleep so great on your tummy.  You're adorable with your booty in the air.

You love to suck your thumb, sit up (with assistance), and stand up while we hold you.  Your exersaucer and johnny jump up are awesome now!  You love to play in them.

You LAUGH now.  It's the cutest thing ever!  You laugh the hardest at Wilson.  He is so sweet with you (most of the time).  We have to keep an eye on ya'll though because big brother can sometimes be a little rough.  We recently found him wheel barreling you while you were in your johnny jump up.

You found your feet on April 9, and they entertain you quite well.

You now fall asleep on your own in your crib for naps and night time sleep.  Speaking of sleep, your last feeding is around 7:30 pm, you go in your sleep sack with sound machine on, and to your crib.  You will occasionally sleep a full 12 hours, but you usually wake up once or twice.  If I nurse you, you go right back in your crib very easily.  For naps, it's the same routine, except no nursing just before going down.  I was shocked when I just put you down for a nap in your crib awake for the first time.  You went right to sleep.  You are definitely our good sleeper!  Way to go, Wallace!

At 4 months, we started feeding you rice cereal, oatmeal a week later, and now you're getting veggies.  You LOVE solids and do great with them.  It was definitely messy and confusing at first, but you have already mastered it.  Carrots are your favorite, but you also like green beans and sweet potatoes.  You choke down the peas for me, but you definitely don't love them.

I'm still breastfeeding, and you are doing great with it.  My plan was to wean you by 6 months, but I just don't know if that's what we are going to do.  In some ways, I'm ready stop.  It's difficult with pumping at work because I've been super busy since going back, but I want to do what's best for you. I love nursing you at bedtime.  It's out quiet time together :

Your hair cracks me up.  You have the cutest little curls on the top of your head!  It's adorable!  No teeth yet, but you are chewing on anything and everything.  Your big sweet eyes, kissable cheeks, and precious smile make me melt.

We are so thankful for you and pray we are raising you to be a man of God!  Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with this bundle of joy!!!
