The weekend started off not so great with a 1:30 am wake up from the ever-so-hated Migraine Monster. The best combination we've come up with for it is Maxalt + Phenergan + Sleep. I stayed in bed until noon, and that was a smart decision. Yes, I have MAJOR issues with that (I don't like to sleep past 8), but it's the only way for me to make it through the weekend without feeling miserable. I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that sometimes I just have to sleep.
I felt pretty good by Friday night. That was a good thing because Caleb's parents came up to stay with us for the weekend. They hadn't been to our house in several months because we always end up going to Georgia. It was so nice to have them here for a couple of days. We just sat around Friday night, and we headed to the lake Saturday morning. This was their first time to experience our weekend routine.
I was so worried about the weather because it was cloudy all morning, but it ended up being a hot, sunny day! We went for a boat ride with our parents!
We stay separated like middle school.
Caleb had to give his dad a little tour on the jet ski.
We also showed them where we go to church at the lake.
We also showed them where we go to church at the lake.
We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch, and we were off on the boat again shortly after eating. We all said some major prayers on the way home because the sky was full of clouds, and we saw lightning in the distance. God watched over us, and we made it home just fine, with a little entertainment from John and his fish.
We took Caleb's parents with us to our church Sunday morning, and I think they liked it. (We call it our church, but we haven't officially joined yet.) After church, we had lunch at New China, our favorite Chinese place ever! My family has been going there for years, and the family that owns it knows us by name. They loveeee Caleb, and it's always a treat to eat there. It was so neat and fun to have Caleb's parents here with us!
Sunday was a pretty lazy day of watching the Braves, napping, a short 2 mile run (which felt like a marathon in this heat) and good food! Nothing beats my mom's steak, rice & gravy, and veggies. Yum!
I'm so glad the weather cooperated for us and very thankful for such a fun weekend with family!
