There are very few things that make my brother John nervous. Planning a proposal was one of those! He and Brittnee have been dating for a little over 2 years, and we all knew it was time (for a while now) for him to pop the question. I found out on Mother's Day that he was in the process of buying the ring, and I've been so excited ever since.
John is all about the shock factor so I knew he would want to catch Brittnee off guard. He would not let anybody know when/how it was happening. He casually told a few friends to stop by the lake house Friday night but never said why. He's lucky everything worked out with timing of people coming over and the weather. There had been thunderstorms all day Friday, but it cleared up perfectly for his boat ride proposal.
He took Britt out on the boat around 6:30, and we were told to arrive around 7. While they were gone, we fixed food and put up some fun decorations. They came back up to the dock around 7:10. She said YES!
Brittnee was giving hugs, telling the story, and on her phone all night long. They both seemed so happy, and I'm so excited to have a new sister!
Here's part of Brittnee's family.
The cousins with the decorations!
Any special event ends with fireworks, especially when you have a pyromaniac little brother to shoot 'em.
It was lots of fun having family all together for such a special occasion!
It was an awesome night celebrating John and Brittnee. They haven't officially set a wedding date yet, but it's going to be so much fun! We are so happy for ya'll! Welcome to the fam!
