The Nursery!

We have a new favorite room in our house, and it just happens to be Wilson's nursery!  If you know me well, you know that decorating is not my strong point.  I like for things to have a meaning in a room, and that was most important to me with Wilson's nursery.  I wanted to use soft, baby colors like baby blue and white.  We knew which room we would use as a nursery from the time we moved into our house in October, and we knew we would leave the walls painted a neutral color.  Caleb and I do not enjoy painting, or picking out paint colors for that matter.  So I think it's perfect we left it neutral so we can use other things to change the color/theme of the room.

Other than wanting a true "baby boy" room, I didn't really do a theme.  Now I'm realizing that having a theme may have made decorating easier, it just wasn't what I wanted.  It really was fun finding each piece for his room individually, and we just love it!  Hope you do, too!

Here's the view as soon as you walk in the door.  I hope he likes big windows.  We can close the curtains so creepy people can't see our baby.

My cousin Christy recovered our cornice boards in the light blue fabric with polka dot ribbon.  They were brown and not very baby-ish.  I know he'll be a big boy before we know it, but I'm all for a baby room while he's a baby.

This wall is opposite the crib wall.  I decided to use a dresser as my changing table also to have one less piece of furniture.  My mom gave us the baskets that are stocked with diapers and wipes.  We found the mirror at Home Goods, and Caleb (with Chad's help) painted the blue shelves.  The lamp came from an antique store downtown Spartanburg, and Lizann gave me the cute monogrammed pillow.

Lacey made this plate and cup for Wilson, and I think it's hilarious.  It says "the very hungry Wilson," like the very hungry caterpillar book.  Isn't that cute?

Here's his crib!  I love his sheet, but I'm being told to not be too attached as it will soon be covered in all sorts of bodily fluids.

And here's the other wall.  You can see his Mamaroo in the corner.  I'm not sure where we'll end up keeping it.  We have the swing and bouncy seat in the living room right now, but I'm sure we'll move things around depending on what he likes a lot.  I love his book rack.  We found it at Pottery Barn outlet for a steal.

Here's the toy box Caleb stained for him.  It came from my dad's storage units, and it's perfect!  It's already full!

I hope he likes to read!

So there you have it!  Wilson's nursery!  I'm sure we will be constantly changing things, but that's how it looks for now.  Or at least how it was the day we took pictures.

I'm so ready to have him rocking in that chair with us!
