Two Months

Wilson,

You are 2 months old (tomorrow)!  How is that possible?  I cannot imagine our life without you.  You are exactly what your Daddy and I needed, and we are so incredibly lucky to have you.  Everybody says it, but I have no idea what we did before we had you.  Daddy and I cannot get enough of you.  It's so hard for either of us to be away from you.  We can't wait to kiss those sweet cheeks in the morning when we get you out of your crib!  Sometimes we fight over who gets to come in and get you up, out of your swaddle, and onto the changing pad.  You're so happy at that time!  It's usually Daddy's job while I get ready, and he LOVES it.

Those first few weeks were rough, mainly because of not sleeping, but now I sort of look forward to waking up in the middle of the night with you.  This week has been rough because I'm back at work full time, but I really do enjoy one middle of the night feeding.  (we're still doing 2 and sometimes unfortunately 3)  You smell so sweet, and your skin is so soft.  From the top of your head and that crazy cowlick down to your sweet toes that I sing "this little piggy" to, I love every inch of you so much.

During this month, you have gotten incredible head control.  You LOVE bath time and when I put your lotion on afterwards.  That's my favorite part of the day with you since going back to work.  You're doing great with tummy time.  Gigi is taking great care of you.  Ya'll read lots of books together, and you like to nap with her holding you.  We're working on you napping in your crib.  You take 3-4 naps a day, some of which are very short.  We've decided your bedtime is 9 pm, and you wake up around 7 or 7:30 am for the first feeding.  During the night, you wake up around 2 and 5 for feedings.  I'm praying we can drop that 5 am feeding eventually and just do one during the night.  Gigi gives you bottles of breast milk around 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm during the day.  It's working out for me to pump 3 times a day to get you those bottles.  I hope I can keep that up!

You're growing perfectly.  Your size 1 diapers are getting a little snug.  You're 12 pounds now! A lot of your 0-3 month clothes are too snug.  3 month outfits fit you much better.   You smile SO much now, and I just melt when you do.  You love laying on your play mat with your toys.

I pray that you have a big heart and that you love people.  I think we're on the right path because you absolutely LOVE for people to hold you and talk to you.  I know you're a sinner, but you seem so perfect to me right now.  God created you perfectly, and we thank Him for you all.the.time.  I hope you always know how much we love you.  Thanks for being our son!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Hi, I am Wilson's friend. He says that if he gets a little cereal before bedtime, he could skip the 5:00 am feeding. Then he would sleep until 7:00am! Wouldn't that be great??
